Sergio Poza

Sergio Poza is a lawyer specialized in intellectual property, trade secrets, technology transfer, data protection, unfair competition and litigation.

He has experience advising and representing national and international clients both in contractual negotiations and in court proceedings, in very different sectors such as IT, consumer electronics or the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

Sergio has acted as lecturer in the Master for Access to the Legal Profession at Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE); the Master in Legal Practice at Garrigues Study Center; and in the Cybersecurity Ventures International Acceleration Program at the Spanish National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE).

He has also been speaker at events such as the Young EPLAW Congress (2011 and 2013) and at the Pan-European LESI YMC Event (2016), as well as contributor to publications such as LES Nouvelles (LESI International journal), in general Spanish newspapers as El Español or in specialized magazines such as Economist & Jurist. He has also contributed to monographic works and handbooks such as The Intellectual Property Review (Edit. Robert L. Baechtold. Pub. Law Business Research, 2012) or Governance of the Legal Function in Organizations: legal operations, innovation and digitalization (Coord. Miguel González Inés. Ed. Thompson Reuters, Aranzadi, 2021).

He holds a double degree in Law and in Business Administration and Management from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE; E-3). He completed her studies with a two-year postgraduate course specialized in European Patent Law organized jointly by CEIPI (Centre d’Études Internationales de la Propriété Intellectuelle, Université de Strasbourg), EPI (European Patent Institute), OEPM (Spanish Patents and Trademark Office) and EOI (Escuela de Organización Industrial) as well as a Training Course for Data Protection Officers of the Madrid Bar Association.

Sergio is a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2005.
