In this article, we would like to explain the process and the <strong>requirements that you need in order to getting your NIE number in Spain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Do not feel overwhelmed, it is very easy! The requirements to get your NIE in Spain are also very simple!<\/p>\n<p>The NIE means N\u00famero de Identificaci\u00f3n de Extranjero which translates to foreign identification number, this number is given to an individual for different purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Most people like to obtain a NIE number so that they can open a bank account in Spain. The N.I.E is important because this way the government can identify you whenever you are doing any processes in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>There are 2 requirements that you must meet in order to be able to apply for a NIE number in Spain:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must <strong>be in Spain legally<\/strong> and you must explain the reason why you would like to obtain the N.IE.<\/li>\n<li>You MUST <strong>make an appointment<\/strong> (cita previa) before showing up, otherwise they will not help you.<br \/>\nIf you would like to schedule an appointment you can visit <a href=\"https:\/\/sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es\/procedimientos\/index\/categoria\/34\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spanish Goverment Website<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>POLIC\u00cdA &#8211; ASIGNACI\u00d3N DE NIE<\/h2>\n<p>The requirements that you must take in person to your appointment are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EX15 Form<\/strong> (duplicado, which means take two copies). The form must be correctly and completely filled out.<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to explain <strong>why you would like to obtain your NIE<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Valid passport<\/strong> (Recommend taking a copy just in case)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tasa model 790<\/strong> (Cod.012). You must pay this tasa before going to your appointment.
